CHROMID™ CARBA SMART
Complete CPE screening
Screen for all carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriacae (CPE) in just one step with CHROMID™CARBA SMART selective chromogenic media bi-plate.
- Smart association of media to screen for OXA-48 on one side and other CPE, notably KPC and NDM-1, on the other
- Easy to use with a single-step process
- Validated for both rectal swabs and stool specimens
- Incubation in 18/24 hours
Maggiori informazioni
Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriacae (CPE) are multi-resistant bacteria sometimes implicated in healthcare-associated infections (HAI) and even epidemics. Rapid detection of CPE is therefore essential to manage these healthcare challenges through better infection prevention and control, patient care and epidemiological monitoring. CHROMID™ CARBA SMART brings together the smart association of two media to rapidly and reliably identify all CPE, particularly KPC, NDM-1 and OXA-48. It is easy to use and read thanks to antibiotics that enable selective growth, along with specific chromogenic substrates and peptones in the agar that lead to specific coloration for clear identification.
Confidence in performance
Given the importance, in this era of antimicrobial resistance, of screening chronic carriers and patients at risk for carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae you seek confidence in your results. As both a pioneer and constant innovator in chromogenic technology, bioMérieux ensures high quality chromogenic media. CHROMID™ CARBA SMART is backed by scientific proofs that show rapid results with high sensitivity and specificity*.
- Standardized method: antibiotic concentration is controlled for each batch
- Can be used on bioMérieux’s PREVI® Isola automated agar plate inoculation system for better colony isolation
- Easy to read: chromogenic substrates and peptones enable specific coloration for clear identification
- Decrease the number of confirmation tests thanks to high performance
- Time saving
- Cost saving
- Lower workload
- A Certificate of Compatibility ensures compatibility with complementary product ranges, including ID/AST (see: www.biomerieux.com/techlib)
